A journalist and writer of Crimean Tatar origin Diana Kadi told about her feelings after Eurovision.
The independent exults: Jamala won the song contest in Stockholm, putting hated Russia’s nose out of joint. Kiev politicians and shill media celebrate great “victory”, calling it “the first step to the return of the Crimea”.
It was written by the leader of the banned in Russia “Majlis” Refat Chubarov on his Facebook page. In his opinion, the first place that Susanna Jamaladinova took, is talking about a huge number of supporters of Ukraine and “oppressed” Crimean Tatars.
I don’t want to disturb the elderly provocateur Chubarov, but Jamala’s has no relevance no to return of the Peninsula, nor to the love to the Ukrainians and especially the Crimean Tatar people. characterless item and Russophobic song the Europeans did not appreciate (as you remember, a professional jury chose Australia and the people — Russia), but hardly ever understood the meaning of the composition.
Many people ask if I feel pride for the victory of the fellow-countrywoman. No, I don’t.
I, Crimean Tatar, feel only contempt for unprincipled singer, speculating on the national idea. She believes that she can to reopen old wounds. It is not so. As she can’t to make loud statements from all Crimean Tatar people.
This might sound cynical, but present Europeans do not care about the tragedy of the Crimean Tatars, which occurred in the last century (when time of horror and deprivation was probably in every family in the Old World).
Ukraine obtained the victory. Biased by a Brussels judges were just doing their job, which, as you have guessed, is out of keeping the music
The same opinion have Ukrainian colleagues of Jamala. The other winner of Eurovision, Ruslana called a song about the deportation of Crimean Tatars “exotic”. The pain of hundreds of thousands of people is exotic for “Golden voice of the Maidan”.
What can we expect from the Europeans?
The Eurovision song contest is a funny show for them (not the best place for a song about a tragedy). They are waiting panem et circenses! And here – then forgettable lyrics, performed by 32-year-old girl with a forced tragic face.
I’m not a fan of work of Sergey Lazarev, but his number and the song were objectively stronger than most others. There were other singers who were eclipsed the representative of Ukraine in the eyes of European public. For example, the Polish Michal Shpak with a song about same-sex love. It seems to be a much more important issue for a tolerant Europe than Jamala, but the jury voted for her.
What is the secret? There is no any…
Ukraine obtained the victory. Biased by a Brussels judges were just doing their job, which, as you have guessed, is out of keeping the music. In a phone conversation with a pranker she agreed that the political overtones in her song exists. She also showed flexibility in her views, and promised to proclaim anything: “Glory to Ukraine” or any other loud slogan
Next year the festival has to be hold in the homeland of the winner. Some public figures proposing to hold “Eurovision-2017” in Crimea.
“The co-organizers of “Eurovision-2017″ in Sevastopol — Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO should start preparing for the festival,” tweeted the Head of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory Vladimir Vyatrovich.
Probably, Vyatrovich does not know that the contest is usually held in the capital of the country, and that the organizers (before the incident with Jamala) strongly underlined non-political platform of the event.
Is possible to entertain the illusion further, but the Crimea does not stop to be part of Russia.
More curious is how and on which resources the state bankrupt will hold the “Eurovision”. The answer is as predictable as the victory of Jamala, who won unfair competition, but lost in the eyes of countrymen. She betrayed them for the ambitions and passing glory.
